Lectotype: QM I.1549. Paralectotypes: (5) AMS I.12538 (1); QM I.477 (1). Lectotype selected by Iwatsuki et al. 2007:40 [ref. 29100]. Current status: Valid as Dentex spariformis Ogilby 1910. Sparidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Queensland (Australia) and Indonesia. Habitat: marine.
