Current status: Valid as Bidyanus bidyanus (Mitchell 1838). Terapontidae. Distribution: Southern Australia: Murray-Darling River system of South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. Introduced in other areas of southern Australia and the Philippines. Habitat: freshwater.
