johnvoelckeri, Chlidichthys Smith [J. L. B.] 1953:518, Pl. 107 (fig. 408a) [The sea fishes of southern Africa. Revised enlarged edition; ref. 19760] Pemba Island, Tanzania, western Indian Ocean, depth about 30-40 fathoms. Lectotype: SAIAB [formerly RUSI] 163. Paralectotypes: (2) SAIAB [formerly RUSI] 797 (1). Also appeared in more detail in Smith 1954:203, Fig. 2 [ref. 4091]. Lectotype established by Smith 1954:203 (see Gill & Edwards 2004:22 [ref. 28143]). •Valid as Chlidichthys johnvoelckeri Smith 1953 -- (Lubbock 1977:13 [ref. 7039], Dor 1984:105 [ref. 29757], Smith 1986:540 [ref. 5712], Goren & Dor 1994:28 [ref. 25356], Gill & Edwards 2004:20 [ref. 28143]). Current status: Valid as Chlidichthys johnvoelckeri Smith 1953. Pseudochromidae: Pseudoplesiopinae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: East Africa (Tanzania, Mozambique) and Comoro Islands. Habitat: marine.
