Holotype: SAIAB [formerly RUSI] 196. Paratypes: SAIAB [formerly RUSI] (3) not found. •Valid as Croilia mossambica Smith 1955 -- (Maugé 1986:366 [ref. 6218] with genus as Croila, Hoese 1986:785 [ref. 5670], Skelton 1993:364 [ref. 24071], Kuiter 1997:356 [ref. 25488], Skelton 2001:364 [ref. 27406], Fricke et al. 2018:328 [ref. 35805]). Current status: Valid as Croilia mossambica Smith 1955. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Mozambique, South Africa and Madagascar. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
