Original genus should have been spelled Gillellus. •Valid as Platygillellus rubellulus (Kendall & Radcliffe 1912) -- (Dawson 1974:42 [ref. 1065], Allen & Robertson 1994:225 [ref. 22193], Grove & Lavenberg 1997:522 [ref. 24023], Herrera & Lavenberg 2002:8 [ref. 25975], Patzner et al. 2009:473 [ref. 30396], McCosker & Rosenblatt 2010:193 [ref. 30957] with genus as Platygillelus). Current status: Valid as Platygillellus rubellulus (Kendall & Radcliffe 1912). Dactyloscopidae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Galapagos Islands (Ecuador) endemic. IUCN (2022): Least Concern. Habitat: marine.
