Paratypes: AMS IB.2456-57 (1, 2), 2458-59 (1, 1), 2460-61 (1, 2), 2462-63 (1, 2); CSIRO B 2678 (1); ?SAMA F4237 (1); USNM 112063-64 (3, 3). •Valid as Gobiopterus semivestita (Munro 1949) -- (Roberts 1978:64 [ref. 8886], Kuiter 1993:362 [ref. 23929], Gomon et al. 1994:792 [ref. 22532], Johnson 1999:749 [ref. 25471]). •Valid as Gobiopterus semivestitus (Munro 1949) -- (Larson & Murdy 2001:3601 [ref. 26293], Hoese & Larson 2006:1659 [ref. 29097], Allen et al. 2008:172 [ref. 30265], Hoese & Larson 2008:759 [ref. 30660], Larson 2011:237. 239 [ref. 31740], Hoese 2015:1581 [ref. 34304], Kuiter 2018:91 [ref. 36369]). Current status: Valid as Gobiopterus semivestitus (Munro 1949). Gobiidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Australia and Papua New Guinea; introduced in New Zealand. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
