Current status: Valid as Pleuroscopus pseudodorsalis Barnard 1927. Uranoscopidae. Distribution: Southwestern Atlantic: Rio Grande Plateau; southeastern Atlantic, southwestern Indian Ocean, southwestern Pacific: Namibia to Western Cape and Eastern Cape (South Africa); southern Australia, New Zealand and Kermadec Islands. Habitat: marine.
