Current status: Valid as Cryptocentrus inexplicatus (Herre 1934). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: East India region to Solomon Islands, northern Australia, Palau, Chuuk and Yaeyama Islands. Habitat: marine.
