Current status: Valid as Selenotoca multifasciata (Richardson 1846). Scatophagidae. Distribution: Southeastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: eastern Indonesia and Papua New Guinea south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Record from South China Sea needs verification. IUCN (2020): Least Concern. Habitat: marine.
