W.] 1908:140 [Annals of the South African Museum v. 6 (pt 2, no. 2); ref. 5840] False Bay, about 2.5 miles from Seal Island, depth 14 fathoms; Fish Hoek Bay, depth 5 fathoms, South Africa. Syntypes: (4) SAM 9900-01 (2, 2). Original genus should have been Tripterygion. •Valid as Cremnochorites capensis (Gilchrist & Thompson 1908) -- (Holleman 1986:756 [ref. 5671], Fricke 1997:563 [ref. 23339], Jawad & Clements 2004:84 [ref. 27725], Heemstra & Heemstra 2004:386 [ref. 28072], Fricke 2009:33 [ref. 30394], Patzner et al. 2009:444 [ref. 30396], Holleman 2022:408 [ref. 39961]). Current status: Valid as Cremnochorites capensis (Gilchrist & Thompson 1908). Tripterygiidae: Tripterygiinae. Distribution: Southwestern Indian Ocean: Western Cape, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa). Habitat: marine.
