Current status: Valid as Hetereleotris zanzibarensis (Smith 1958). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: East Africa, Comoros, Madagascar, Seychelles, Saint Brandon's Shoals and Mascarenes to Maldives. Habitat: marine.
