Holotype: ZUMT 7089. Paratypes: whereabouts unknown. Species originally published in Japanese in above reference, later illustrated and described in more detail in English and Japanese in Tanaka 1916:425, Pls. 116 (fig. 342), 117 (fig. 343) [ref. 14939]. •Valid as Parargyrops edita Tanaka 1916 -- (Ye in Pan et al. 1991:401 [ref. 23876], Chen et al. 1997:93 [ref. 26476], Parenti 2019:85 [ref. 36892]). Current status: Valid as Parargyrops edita Tanaka 1916. Sparidae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: East China Sea to Japan. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
