Original lots contained more than the 16 specimens menitoned, and it is impossible to determine which 16 specimens the authors examined. •Valid as Abeona aurora Jordan & Gilbert 1880 -- (Herrera 1896:57 [ref. 39336]). •Valid as Micrometrus aurora (Jordan & Gilbert 1880) -- (Tarp 1952:84 [ref. 12250], Eschmeyer & Herald 1983:231 [ref. 9277], Nelson et al. 2004:153 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:133 [ref. 37547], Page et al. 2013:158 [ref. 32708], Kells et al. 2016:260 [ref. 35888], Longo et al. 2018:595 [ref. 36149], Burton & Lea 2019:80 [ref. 37205], Love et al. 2021:173 [ref. 39279]). Current status: Valid as Micrometrus aurora (Jordan & Gilbert 1880). Embiotocidae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: northern California (U.S.A.) south to Pacific coast of central Baja California (Mexico). Habitat: marine.
