Paratypes: AMS I.17149-001 (2), I.19128-001 (1), IB.3350-52 (1, 1, 1); KFRS F.4282.01 (2); RMNH 27427 [ex FO 1632] (1). •Valid as Hephaestus transmontanus (Mees & Kailola 1977) -- (Allen & Coates 1990:82 [ref. 25561], Allen 1991:125 [ref. 21090], Allen et al. 1992:301 [ref. 21400]). Current status: Valid as Hephaestus transmontanus (Mees & Kailola 1977). Terapontidae. Distribution: Papua New Guinea. Habitat: freshwater.
