Paratypes: SAIAB [formerly RUSI] 808-817 (1 ea., total 10). •Valid as Redigobius pongolensis (Kok & Blaber 1977) -- (Maugé 1986:382 [ref. 6218]). •Synonym of Redigobius dewaalii (Weber 1897) -- (Hoese 1986:803 [ref. 5670], Larson 2001:207 [ref. 25522], Larson 2022:170 [ref. 39971]). Current status: Synonym of Redigobius dewaali (Weber 1897). Oxudercidae: Gobionellinae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
