Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:28 [ref. 13621], Springer et al. 1991:9 [ref. 18888]. •Valid as Meiacanthus fraseri Smith-Vaniz 1976 -- (Smith-Vaniz 1987:9 [ref. 6404], Smith-Vaniz et al. 2001:33 [ref. 26213], Patzner et al. 2009:456 [ref. 30396], Williams & Springer 2022:364 [ref. 39951]). Current status: Valid as Meiacanthus fraseri Smith-Vaniz 1976. Blenniidae: Blenniinae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: Madagascar, Saint Brandon's Shoals (Cargados Carajos) and Mascarenes (Mauritius). Habitat: marine.
