Holotype (unique): NTUM 02696. Type catalog: Ho & Shao 2011:48 [ref. 31432]. •Synonym of Chaetodontoplus chrysocephalus (Bleeker 1854) -- (Allen 1980:250 [ref. 22764]). •Valid as Chaetodontoplus cephalareticulatus Shen & Lim 1975 -- (Allen & Steene 2004:28 [ref. 27615], Ho & Shao 2011:48 [ref. 31432]). Current status: Valid as Chaetodontoplus cephalareticulatus Shen & Lim 1975. Pomacanthidae. Distribution: Western North Pacific: southern Japan and Taiwan. Habitat: marine.
