Current status: Valid as Epigonus oligolepis Mayer 1974. Epigonidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Florida (U.S.A.) south to Rio Grande do Norte (Brazil), including Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. Habitat: marine.
