Also described as new in Fernández-Yépez 1977:73 [ref. 8934]. •Synonym of Hypselecara coryphaenoides (Heckel 1840) -- (Kullander in Reis et al. 2003:637 [ref. 27061]). Current status: Synonym of Hypselecara coryphaenoides (Heckel 1840). Cichlidae: Cichlinae. Habitat: freshwater.
