Current status: Valid as Microspathodon frontatus Emery 1970. Pomacentridae: Microspathodontinae. Distribution: Eastern Atlantic: Ghana south to Gabon, including Bioko (Equatorial Guinea), Annobón Island (Equatorial Guinea), and São Tomé and Principe. Habitat: marine.
