Paratypes: (26 of following) BMNH 1968.8.30.58-68 (11), 1968.8.30.69-73 (5), 1968.8.30.74-88 (15). •Valid as Haplochromis megalops Greenwood & Gee 1969 -- (van Oijen et al. 1991:143 [ref. 20956]). Current status: Valid as Haplochromis megalops Greenwood & Gee 1969. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Victoria. Habitat: freshwater.
