Holotype: BMNH 1968.8.30.135. Paratypes: BMNH 1968.8.30.136-149 (14). •Valid as Haplochromis tyrianthinus Greenwood & Gee 1969 -- (van Oijen et al. 1991:180 [ref. 20956]). Current status: Valid as Haplochromis tyrianthinus Greenwood & Gee 1969. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Victoria. Habitat: freshwater.
