Holotype: BMNH 1968.8.30.292. Paratypes: BMNH 1968.8.30.293-296 (4), .297-301 (5), .302-305 (4), .306-309 (4); 1968.8.30.330-333 (4). •Valid as Haplochromis decticostoma Greenwood & Gee 1969 -- (van Oijen et al. 1991:119 [ref. 20956]). Current status: Valid as Haplochromis decticostoma Greenwood & Gee 1969. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Victoria. Habitat: freshwater.
