Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:39 [ref. 12291], Alfred 1970:70 [ref. 23931]. •Synonym of Pangio shelfordii (Popta 1903) -- (Kottelat & Lim 1993:240 [ref. 21437]). •Valid as Pangio muraeniformis (de Beaufort 1933) -- (Lim et al. 1990:43 [ref. 16753], Doi 1997:15 [ref. 22832], Kottelat 2012:39 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:183 [ref. 32989], Ng et al. 2019:520 [ref. 36606]). Current status: Valid as Pangio muraeniformis (de Beaufort 1933). Cobitidae. Distribution: Malaya (Malaysia), Singapore. Habitat: freshwater.
