Holotype (unique): ZUMT 8193 (lost). •Valid as Cantherhines multilineatus (Tanaka 1918) -- (Kyushin et al. 1977:356 [ref. 19756], Matsuura in Masuda et al. 1984:360 [ref. 6441], Lindberg et al. 1997:91 [ref. 23547], Nakabo 2000:1405 [ref. 25182], Nakabo 2002:1405 [ref. 26193], Shinohara et al. 2005:444 [ref. 28370], Matsuura 2014:11 [ref. 33576], Kim et al. 2020:199 [ref. 39118]). •Valid as Thamnaconus multilineatus (Tanaka 1918) -- (Randall 2007:481 [ref. 30952], Motomura et al. 2017:234 [ref. 35490], Psomadakis et al. 2020:613 [ref. 37272], Gumanao et al. 2022:134 [ref. 39933], Nashad et al. 2023:124 [ref. 39975]). Current status: Valid as Thamnaconus multilineatus (Tanaka 1918). Monacanthidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Myanmar and Andaman Islands (India) east to Indonesia and Philippines, north to Korea and Japan. Habitat: marine.
