fluviatilis, Tetrodon Hamilton [F.] 1822:6, 362, Pl. 30 (fig. 1) [An account of the fishes found in the river Ganges; ref. 2031] Ganges River at Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. Neotype: BMNH 1934.10.17.139. Neotype designated by Dekkers 1975:129 [ref. 7417]. Original genus should have been Tetraodon. Hamilton's original illustration reproduced by Britz 2019:Pl. 3 [ref. 37532] •Valid as Chelonodon fluviatilis (Hamilton 1822) -- (Ataur Rahman 1989:54 [ref. 24860], Talwar & Jhingran 1991:1055 [ref. 20764], Rainboth 1996:226 [ref. 22772], Khan 2003:11 [ref. 27710]). •Valid as Tetraodon fluviatilis Hamilton 1822 -- (Dekkers 1975:127 [ref. 7417] with subspecies, Pethiyagoda 1991:294 [ref. 20075], Ebert 2001:22 [ref. 25494], Ataur Rahman 2003:69 [ref. 31338]). •Valid as Dichotomyctere fluviatilis (Hamilton 1822) -- (Kottelat 2013:475 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Valid as Dichotomyctere fluviatilis (Hamilton 1822). Tetraodontidae. Distribution: Southern Asia. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
