Paratypes: CAS 44194 [ex IU 12549] (1). Type catalog: Henn 1928:88 [ref. 12305], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:80 [ref. 12367]. •Valid as Soleonasus finis Eigenmann 1912 -- (Munroe 2003:1928 [ref. 27118], Ramos in Reis et al. 2003:668 [ref. 27061]). •Valid as Apionichthys finis (Eigenmann 1912) -- (Ramos 2003:104 [ref. 26762], Ramos in Menezes et al. 2003:107 [ref. 27192], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:28 [ref. 39298], Bitencourt et al. 2022:4 [ref. 39848]). Current status: Valid as Apionichthys finis (Eigenmann 1912). Achiridae. Distribution: South America: Essequibo River basin and middle to upper Amazon River basin (Brazil, Guyana and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
