Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:161 [ref. 13621]. •Synonym of Amblyrhynchotes honckenii (Bloch 1795) -- (Smith & Heemstra 1986:895 [ref. 5714]). •Synonym of Amblyrhynchote honckenii (Bloch 1795) -- ( Matsuura 2022:456 [ref. 40261]). •Valid as Torquigener marleyi (Fowler 1929) -- (Heemstra & Heemstra 2004:451 [ref. 28072], Matsuura 2022:474 [ref. 40261]). Current status: Valid as Torquigener marleyi (Fowler 1929). Tetraodontidae. Distribution: Southwestern Indian Ocean: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) endemic. Habitat: marine.
