Appeared first as Cryptops coeca Hardenberg 1931, which is regarded as unavailable. •Possibly a synonym of Typhlachirus elongatus Pellegrin & Chevey 1940 -- (Evseenko et al. 2022:120 [ref. 39187]). •Valid as Typhlachirus caecus Hardenberg 1931 -- (Kottelat et al. 1993:171 [ref. 23448], Proudlove 2006:269 [ref. 28992], Kottelat 2013:465 [ref. 32989], Evseenko & Bolshakov 2018:553 [ref. 36418], Tan & Grinang 2020:7 [ref. 37930]). Current status: Valid as Typhlachirus caecus Hardenberg 1931. Soleidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Indonesia. Habitat: brackish, marine.
