Distribution: Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa, Persian Gulf and Madagascar east to Taiwan, Philippines and Papua New Guinea, north to central Japan, south to Western Australia, Queensland (Australia) and New Caledonia. IUCN (2016): Least Concern. Habitat: marine.
