Holotype: USNM 74135. Paratypes: BMNH 1939.4.1.8 [ex USNM] (1); USNM 99102-04 (2, 2, 2), 99108 (1), 99112 (1), 99260 (6). •Valid as Monomitopus garmani (Smith & Radcliffe 1913) -- (Carter & Cohen 1985:86 [ref. 5145], Nielsen 1997:60 [ref. 23255], Nielsen & Cohen in Nielsen et al. 1999:78 [ref. 24448], Nielsen 1999:1981 [ref. 24753], Nielsen & Møller 2008:32 [ref. 29803], Fricke et al. 2011:366 [ref. 31242], Girard et al. 2023:272 [ref. 40379]). Current status: Valid as Monomitopus garmani (Smith & Radcliffe 1913). Ophidiidae: Neobythitinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Celebes to New Caledonia. Habitat: marine.
