Holotype: USNM 74133. Paratypes: BMNH 1939.4.1.7 [ex USNM] (1), USNM 99261-64 (1, 1, 1, 1). •Valid as Monomitopus pallidus Smith & Radcliffe 1913 -- (Machida in Masuda et al. 1984:100 [ref. 6441], Machida in Okamura & Kitajima 1984:259, 373 [ref. 8057], Carter & Cohen 1985:87 [ref. 5145], Nielsen & Cohen in Nielsen et al. 1999:78 [ref. 24448], Nielsen 1999:1981 [ref. 24753], Nakabo 2000:444 [ref. 25086], Nakabo 2002:444 [ref. 26001], Shinohara et al. 2005:414 [ref. 28370]). Current status: Valid as Monomitopus pallidus Smith & Radcliffe 1913. Ophidiidae: Neobythitinae. Distribution: Western Pacific. Habitat: marine.
