Syntypes: BMNH 1902.11.12.164-165 (2), 1912.6.29.19-27 (9) and .28 (1, skeleton). •Synonym of Pelvicachromis taeniatus (Boulenger 1901) -- (Daget 1991:365 [ref. 20947], Teugels & Thys van den Audenaerde in Lévêque et al. 1992:733 [ref. 21590], Lamboj 2001:72 [ref. 28829]). •Valid as Pelvicochromis kribensis (Boulenger 1911) -- (Lamboj 2013:152 [ref. 32778] as a species and aff. taeniatus, Lamboj et al. 2014:219 [ref. 33539]). Current status: Valid as Pelvicachromis kribensis (Boulenger 1911). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Cameroon. Habitat: freshwater.
