Paratypes: BMNH 1932.12.16.866-877 (12), 1932.12.16.879-888 (10). •Valid as Oreochromis mortimeri (Trewavas 1966) -- (Trewavas 1981:42 [ref. 39520], Trewavas & Teugels 1991:324 [ref. 20954], Skelton 1993:326 [ref. 24071], Skelton 2001:326 [ref. 27406], Marshall 2011:246 [ref. 31755]). Current status: Valid as Oreochromis mortimeri (Trewavas 1966). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Southern Africa. Habitat: freshwater.
