Holotype: ZMUC P6492. Paratypes: ZMUC P6493-96 (4). Type catalog: Nielsen 1974:71 [ref. 9588], Fricke 1982:63 [ref. 5432]. May use Callionymus or Repomucenus; authors differ. •Valid as Repomucenus meridionalis (Suwardji 1965) -- (Hoese & Bray 2006:1590 [ref. 29000], Larson et al. 2013:184 [ref. 32988], Yoshida et al. 2013:186 [ref. 34464], Shibukawa in Kimura et al. 2018:249 [ref. 36460], Vilasri et al. 2023:93 [ref. 40764]). •Valid as Callionymus meridionalis Suwardji 1965 -- (Fricke 1982:63 [ref. 5432], Fricke 1983:217 [ref. 8349], Fricke in Randall & Lim 2000:634 [ref. 25122], Fricke 2001:3563 [ref. 26292], Fricke 2002:32 [ref. 26547], Ng & Rainboth 2011:67 [ref. 31577], Motomura et al. 2017:194 [ref. 35490], Psomadakis et al. 2020:545 [ref. 37272]). Current status: Valid as Callionymus meridionalis Suwardji 1965. Callionymidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Myanmar and western Indonesia east to Philippines, north to northern Vietnam, south to Western Australia and Northern Territory (Australia). Habitat: marine.
