Larson et al. 2013:173 [ref. 32988], Motomura et al. 2017:191 [ref. 35490], Gloerfelt-Tarp & Kailola 2022:249 [ref. 41223], Luo et al. 2024:8 [ref. 41630]). Current status: Valid as Champsodon atridorsalis Ochiai & Nakamura 1964. Champsodontidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Indonesia east to Philippines, north to Vietnam and Bophai Gulf (southern China), south to northern Australia. Habitat: marine.
