phillipsi, Sebastodes Fitch [J. E.] 1964:526, Figs. 1-2 [Copeia 1964 (no. 3); ref. 1882] 3 miles southwest of East Light, Santa Catalina Island, California, U.S.A. Holotype: CAS 27026 (dry). Paratypes: CAS 27027 (1), 27028 (1, dry); SIO 15-211 (1) (ex UCLA W63-160), 63-251-53(A) (2); CAS-SU 62096 (2); USNM 197614 (1). •Valid as Sebastes phillipsi (Fitch 1964) -- (Eschmeyer & Herald 1983:146 [ref. 9277], Orr et al. 2000:15 [ref. 24942], Shytko 2001:60 [ref. 26410], Love et al. 2002:233 [ref. 26216], Nelson et al. 2004:115 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:78 [ref. 37547], Butler et al. 2012:52 [ref. 40735], Page et al. 2013:118 [ref. 32708], Kells et al. 2016:146 [ref. 35888], Burton & Lea 2019:61 [ref. 37205], Love et al. 2021:111 [ref. 39279]). Current status: Valid as Sebastes phillipsi (Fitch 1964). Scorpaenidae: Sebastinae. Distribution: Northeastern Pacific: California (U.AS.A.) endemic. Habitat: marine.
