When both species are not in Monopterus, the secondary homonym has to be reinstated again, being replaced after 1960 [ICZN Art. 59.4]. •Treated as valid as Monopterus indicus Eapen 1963 -- (Rosen & Greenwood 1976:57 [ref. 7094]). •Synonym of Monopterus eapeni Talwar 1963. •Valid as Rakthamichthys indicus (Eapen 1963) -- (Britz et al. 2020:232 [ref. 38035]). 2°Homonym.
