Holotype: ZMUC P4174. Paratypes: USNM 151303-09 (1, 3, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2); ZMUC P4134-35 (2), P4175-177 (3). Type catalog: Nielsen 1974:60 [ref. 9588]. •Valid as Scopelogadus unispinis Ebeling & Weed 1963 -- (Kotlyar 1996:276 [ref. 23292], Moore & Paxton 1999:2202 [ref. 24787], Paxton & Moore in Randall & Lim 2000:600 [ref. 25122], Kotlyar 2004:7 [ref. 27590], Kimura et al. 2019:7 [ref. 37790], Kotlyar 2021:801 [ref. 38954]). Current status: Valid as Scopelogadus unispinis Ebeling & Weed 1963. Melamphaidae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: tropical, between 15°N and 15°S. Habitat: marine.
