Type catalog: Ibarra & Stewart 1987:12 [ref. 12367], Ferraris & Vari 1992:10 [ref. 19771], Ferraris 2007:66 [ref. 29155]. •Valid as Astroblepus pholeter Collette 1962 -- (Ovchynnyk 1967:37 [ref. 37559], Burgess 1989:449 [ref. 12860], Cardona & Guerao 1994:21 [ref. 22093], Romero & Paulson 2001:29 [ref. 26040], Schaefer in Reis et al. 2003:314 [ref. 27061], Proudlove 2006:155 [ref. 28992], Ferraris 2007:66 [ref. 29155], Barriga Salazar 2014:112 [ref. 35745]). Current status: Valid as Astroblepus pholeter Collette 1962. Astroblepidae. Distribution: South America: Napo River basin (Ecuador). Habitat: freshwater.
