W.] 1962:85, Fig. 32 [Dana Report No. 58; ref. 5896] Sulawesi Sea [ca. 47 kilometers northwest of Manado, Sulawesi Utara, Indonesia, western Pacific], 1°42'N, 124°29'E, Dana station D3682, depth about 350 meters (1000 meters wire out) over bottom depth of 3660 meters. Holotype: ZMUC P41156. Paratypes: (3) ZMUC P41157-58, plus additional material. Type catalog: Nielsen 1974:59 [ref. 9588]. •Valid as Melamphaes indicus Ebeling 1962 -- (Pequeño 1989:52 [ref. 14125], Kotlyar 1996:273 [ref. 23292], Kotlyar 2004:2 [ref. 27590], Love et al. 2005:67 [ref. 37547], Mundy 2005:296 [ref. 28379], Fricke et al. 2011:371 [ref. 31242], Kotlyar 2016:24 [ref. 34170], Kotlyar 2016:389 [ref. 35038], Fricke et al. 2018:109 [ref. 35805], Carneiro et al. 2019:150 [ref. 37250]). Current status: Valid as Melamphaes indicus Ebeling 1962. Melamphaidae. Distribution: Indo-Pacific: Madagascar east to Hawaiian Islands (U.S.A.); eastern Pacific: southern California (U.S.A.) south to northern Chile. Habitat: marine.
