Type catalog: Hutchins & Smith 1991:16 [ref. 19335], Moore et al. 2008:17 [ref. 30117] •Synonym of Centropogon australis (White 1790) -- (Paxton et al. 1989:439 [ref. 12442]). •Valid as Centropogon latifrons Mees 1962 -- (Gomon et al. 1994:478 [ref. 22532], Hutchins 2001:27 [ref. 25847], Allen et al. 2006:897 [ref. 29078], Johnson & Motomura 2008:500 [ref. 30648], Hoschke et al. 2019:155 [ref. 36626]). Current status: Valid as Centropogon latifrons Mees 1962. Synanceiidae: Tetraroginae. Distribution: Southeastern Indian Ocean: Western Australia, South Australia. Habitat: marine.
