stegemanni, Hyphessobrycon Géry [J.] 1961:7, Figs. 1-4, plus 1 unnumbered [Tropical Fish Hobbyist v. 9 (no. 9, May); ref. 9351] Between the rio Manoel Alves Pequeno and rio Vermelho, rio Tocantins basin, about 8°19'S, 47°25'W, munic. de Itacajá, Estado do Tocantins, Brazil or Ilha do Bananal, about 11°S, 51°W, rio Javaés, estado do Tocantinus, Brazil. Holotype: USNM 195942. Paratypes: Géry coll. M 1122-5 (now 3); SMF 5302 [ex Géry M1122-5] (1), 5377 (1). Type catalog: Vari & Howe 1991:28 [ref. 19022]. For type locality correction see Lima & Géry 2001:96 [ref. 26057]. Two figures are mislabeled savannensis.
