Paratypes: AMS I.19413-001 [ex SAIAB [formerly RUSI] 823] (2); SAIAB [formerly RUSI 729] (13), 822-823 (4, 3), 825 (6); USNM 210404 [ex SAIAB [formerly RUSI] 729] (1). •Valid as Monishia sordida Smith 1959 -- (Goren 1985:8 [ref. 5179], Hoese 1986:794 [ref. 5670]). •Valid as Coryogalops sordida (Smith 1959) -- (Goren 1991:3 [ref. 19343], Kovačić et al. 2014:513 [ref. 33562]). •Valid as Coryogalops sordidus (Smith 1959) -- (Kovačić et al. 2016:343 [ref. 34349], Fricke et al. 2018:328 [ref. 35805], Parenti 2021:119 [ref. 38603], Larson 2022:68 [ref. 39971]). Current status: Valid as Coryogalops sordidus (Smith 1959). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: East Africa (Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya) east to Madagascar. Habitat: marine.
