Paratypes: ANSP 83826 (1); FMNH 64386-89 (6, 2, 9, 1); MCZ 39991 [not 39989] (1); TABL (5, 3 c&s); CAS-SU 51106 (1); TU 18831 (3); UBC 58-307 (1); UF 5245 (3), 23300 [ex UMML 3300] (3); USNM 158875 (28). Type catalog: Suttkus 1970:128 [ref. 20861], Gilbert 1974:113 [ref. 21035], Fricke 1982:56 [ref. 5432], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:33 [ref. 12367], Böhlke 1984:32 [ref. 13621], Bart & Taylor 1993:66 [ref. 20906]. The species was named for the vessel Oregon, but the authors declined the name to agree with the gender of Draconetta, so we tentatively regard the name as an adjective rather than a noun in apposition. •Valid as Centrodraco oregonus (Briggs & Berry 1959), as subspecies oregonus (Briggs & Berry 1959) -- (Fricke 2002:70 [ref. 26547], Fricke 2002:6 [ref. 26581]). •Valid as Centrodraco oregonus (Briggs & Berry 1959) -- (Fricke 1982:56 [ref. 5432], Yamamoto in Okamura et al. 1982:293, 404 [ref. 8256], Fricke 1992:178 [ref. 20038], Hartel & Nakabo 2003:1777 [ref. 27110], Figueiredo & Menezes in Menezes et al. 2003:97 [ref. 27192], Fricke 2010:344 [ref. 30772], Fricke 2015:215 [ref. 34018], Klautau et al. 2020:8 [ref. 37903]). Current status: Valid as Centrodraco oregonus (Briggs & Berry 1959). Draconettidae. Distribution: Southwestern Atlantic: off northern Brazil. Habitat: marine.
