atopodus, Tyttocharax Böhlke [J. E.] 1958:323, Fig. 1 (bottom) [Copeia 1958 (no. 4); ref. 12373] Río Rondos (tributary of Río Monzón), near Tingo Maria, Peru. Holotype: ANSP 78714. Paratypes: ANSP 78715-16 (2, 1), 78717 (2, stained). Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:43 [ref. 13621]. •Valid as Scopaeocharax atopodus (Böhlke 1958) -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:9 [ref. 9708], Weitzman & Burns 1997:143 [ref. 24512], Weitzman in Reis et al. 2003:227 [ref. 27061], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:54 [ref. 35633]). Current status: Valid as Scopaeocharax atopodus (Böhlke 1958). Characidae: Stevardiinae. Distribution: Amazon River basin: Peru and Colombia. Habitat: freshwater.
