Type catalog: Spodareva et al. 2023:245 [ref. 40445] with neotype. Appeared without distinguishing features and unavailable as Cottinella pulchra in Taliev 1948:113, 118 [ref. 19628]. Sideleva 2001:67 [ref. 26181] lists a neotype [ZIN 50873] but that is invalid under the code if this is the first time it appeared; same neotype listed in Sideleva 2003:188 [ref. 27815]. •Valid as Asprocottus pulcher Taliev 1955 [usually dated to 1948] -- (Taliev 1955:69 [ref. 4316], Sideleva 1982:29 [ref. 14469], Reshetnikov et al. 1997:760 [ref. 24702] dating to 1948, Sideleva 1998:156 [ref. 23595], Bogutskaya et al. 2001:47 [ref. 26178] dating to 1948, Kontula et al. 2003:149 [ref. 26791], Sideleva 2003:17, 188 [ref. 27815], Bogutskaya & Naseka 2004:196 [ref. 28183], Goto et al. 2014:[15] [ref. 33456], Bogdanov 2018:120 [ref. 37168], Dyldin et al. 2020:115 [ref. 37569]). •Valid as Abyssocottus pulcher (Taliev 1955) -- (Bogdanov 2023:67 [ref. 40329]). Current status: Valid as Asprocottus pulcher Taliev 1955. Cottidae. Distribution: North Asia: northern part of Lake Baikal (Russia). Habitat: freshwater.
