Type locality in error (see Munroe 1990:229 [ref. 19192]). •Synonym of Symphurus melanurus Clark 1936 -- (Munroe 1990:229 [ref. 19192], Desoutter et al. 2001:352 [ref. 25922]). Current status: Synonym of Symphurus melanurus Clark 1936. Cynoglossidae: Symphurinae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
