maeandri, Pararhodeus Ladiges [W.] 1960:140, Fig. 13 [Mitteilungen aus dem Hamburgischen Zoologischen Museum und Institut v. 58; ref. 9361] Headwaters of Menderes River near Isikli, Turkey. Holotype: ZMH H1093. Paratypes: ZMH H1094 (1). Type catalog: Wilkens 1977:158 [ref. 22013]. The suggestion that if conspecific, P. maeandri [as meandri] has priority by 18 pages over P. maendicus if both names represented the same species (Hrbek et al. 2004:305 [ref. 27955]) is incorrect; page priority has never been a codified reason for priority decisions. •Valid as Pseudophoxinus maeandri (Ladiges 1960) -- (Bogutskaya 1992:270 [ref. 22066], Bogutskaya 1997:178 [ref. 23566], Hrbek et al. 2004:304 [ref. 27955] as meandri, Freyhof & Özuluğ 2006:258 [ref. 28846], Bogutskaya et al. 2006:335 [ref. 29055], Küçük 2007:1 [ref. 29155] as meandri, Fricke et al. 2007:45 [ref. 29533], Freyhof & Özuluğ 2010:317 [ref. 30686] as meandri, Freyhof & Özuluğ 2010:244 [ref. 31039] as meandri, Küçük et al. 2013:40 [ref. 32816], Ekmekçi et al. 2015:127 [ref. 34001], Çiçek et al. 2015:147 [ref. 35151], Küçük et al. 2016:287 [ref. 34910], Çiçek et al. 2018:13 [ref. 36267]). Current status: Valid as Pseudophoxinus maeandri (Ladiges 1960). Leuciscidae: Leuciscinae. Distribution: Turkey: Büyük Menderes River (Aegean Sea tributary), Denizli Province. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
