Current status: Valid as Hemigrammus mimus Böhlke 1955. Acestrorhamphidae: Pristellinae. Distribution: South America: middle Negro and Amazon river basins; upper Orinoco River basin: Brazil and Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
